Howard Eustace Haynes

Howard Eustace Haynes, age 89, died on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Born in Louisville, MS, on July 10, 1925, he was the son of the late Eustace Haynes and Florence Kinard Haynes. He was predeceased by his daughter, Helen Elizabeth ("Betsy") Haynes Anderson. Howard served in the United States Marines during World War II in the Pacific Campaign, including the assault on Okinawa. He founded Haynes Incorporated in late 1950s and operated until his retirement in 1989. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind his wife, Helen Blake Haynes of sixty-nine years; son-in-law, Stephen Worley Anderson of Rocky Mount, NC. He is also survived by his grandchild, Blake Haynes Anderson and his wife, Raichel of Raleigh, NC; and his great-grandchildren, Matthew Blake Alexander Anderson and Nathanial Haynes Worley Anderson. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 2:00PM at Church of the Good Shepherd, Rocky Mount, NC with Reverend Matt Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held following the service. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Tarboro, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church of the Good Shepherd, 231 North Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
