ENFIELD – Henry Clinton Keeter, III, age 60, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Born in Nash County, NC on September 12, 1962, he was the son of the late Henry Clinton Keeter, Jr. and Maggie Price Keeter. Henry had an unwavering passion for fishing, seeking out opportunities to cast a line in various locations like the serene beach or nearby rivers and waterways. Above all, his heart belonged to his beloved family, cherishing the moments spent together as the most treasured memories. His deep appreciation for food made him a true food enthusiast, and his passion for being a foodie influenced his son Ethan to follow a path in the culinary arts profession. Henry also held a deep affection for animals, nurturing and caring for them with utmost love and compassion. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend, and will be missed by all who knew him. Henry is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mary Catherine “Kaye” Keeter; his sons, Samuel Clinton Keeter and Ethan Patrick Keeter, both of Asheville; his caregiver/buddy, Lois Ausby; and his canine companion, Daisy. A Celebration of Henry’s Life will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Visitation with the family will follow the service in the Atrium until 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Henry’s memory to American Kidney Fund, http://kidneyfund.org.
