Hector Neal Lewis

NASHVILLE – Hector Neal Lewis, age 66, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026.  Born in Alamance County, NC on October 5, 1960, he was the son of the late John Robert Lewis and Etta Jane Batts Lewis.  He was also preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Sharon Gold Lewis.

Hector served his country in the United States Navy and worked for the railroad for many years.  He grew up overseas and, throughout his life, lived in Greece, Turkey, and Mexico.  An outdoorsman, Hector enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially bass fishing, and loved classic rock and roll music.  He treasured summers with his daughter, Meggan, at Peachtree Country Club in Spring Hope, where they spent time at the pool and played golf together.  He loved his animals, Petey, the parakeet, and his two labradoodles, Eli and Hermione.  Above all, Hector loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Hector is survived by his daughter, Meggan Gold Lewis; and his grandchildren, Christian Lewis and Hannah Joyner.

A Celebration of Hector’s Life will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services.  Visitation with the family will following the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services until 4:00 PM.
