Grover Cleveland Hinson, age 71, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lenoir County on January 20, 1940, son of the late Wilbur Hinson and Nannie Grant Hinson. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, William Hinson and Bud Hinson; and two sisters, Helen Hoell and Jeanette Hardy.
Grover was a longtime member and deacon at West Mount Baptist Church. He was a devoted employee with Whitco Pest Management for over 40 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Carolyn Wallace Hinson; daughter, Martha H. Neville of Roanoke Rapids; two grandchildren, Hinson and Caroline Neville; two sisters, Ann Dail and husband Ray of Snow Hill and Frances Whitfield and husband Clarence of Kinston; and several special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 7:00pm to 8:30pm Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember Grover will be held at 11:00am Monday morning at West Mount Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Hogan officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
