Glenn Hillard Glover, 59, went to meet his Lord and Saviour on Monday, March 22, 2010. He was born June 19, 1950 in Edgecombe County, son of the late Hillard Preston Glover and Naomi Glover Petway. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Woody Glover.
Glenn owned and operated Glover's Custom Cabinet Shop from the late 70s to 1999. Nothing made him happier than cooking a pig for his family and friends. Hunting and fishing occupied most of his spare time and provided ample stories of the one that always got away. He was also a die-hard Duke basketball fan. One of his greatest accomplishments was building his own home. It took over 10 years, but from the ground up, Glenn had a hand in every aspect of the construction process. Glenn was truly blessed with a wealth of loving family and dear friends. He will be missed by all who loved him.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 36 years, Phyllis Hamlet Glover; beloved pet, Harley; three brothers, Charles Winstead and wife Jane of Roanoke Rapids, Dale Glover and wife Kristy of Spring Hope, and Gary Glover of Rocky Mount; one sister, Brenda Bailey and husband Dennis of Spring Hope; and two sisters-in-law, Linda Hans of Rocky Mount, and Janice Burnette and husband Robert of Manson. He is also survived by five nephews, Dennis Wayne Bailey and wife Sandra of Spring Hope, Chris Bailey and wife Jessica of Wilson, Frank Hans III and wife Wendy of Rocky Mount, Robbie Burnette of Wake Forest, and Chris Hans of Richmond VA; two nieces, Shannon Lewis and husband Warren of Middlesex and Kim Howerton and husband Daniel of Rocky Mount; two great-nephews; and six great nieces. Glenn will also be remembered by his blood brother and best friend, Larry Ramsey of Smithfield.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 7-8:30pm Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A funeral service to celebrate Glenn's life will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, March 25, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Alfred Ayscue and Rev. Pam Denton officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Friends of Hospice of Nash General Hospital, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Nash General for the loving care provided to Glenn during his illness.

May the happy memories that we share of Glenn and his fun-loving character make us realize that we should enjoy life, friends, and family often. Glenn was cooking a pig at the opening of Henry Hamlet’s store in Centerville on the day this picture was taken.
