TARBORO - Geraldine "Gerry" Baker Keel, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Born in Wilson County, NC on December 18, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy Baker and Effie Baker Bass. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Keel; brothers, Brantley Baker, Archie Baker, and Phil Baker; and sisters, Doris Proctor, Christine Baker, and Peggy Bachelor.
Gerry leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Debbie Keel Mitchell and husband, Clay, of Tarboro, Cindy Keel Webb and husband, Duane, of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, and Wendi Keel Lewis and husband, James, of Tarboro. She is also survived by grandchildren, Leslie Lunsford and husband, Jeff, Chris Mitchell, Royce Webb, Nick Webb, Tyler Lewis, and Joshua Lewis and wife, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Logan Lunsford, Anna Grace Lunsford, Rorie Lunsford, Kaleya Tyson, and Ian Lewis; sisters, Bonnie Whitley, of Wilson, and Phyllis Britt of Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Earnie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
