ROCKY MOUNT – George Curtis Lewis, age 48, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. George was born in Nash County, NC on October 22, 1974. He was preceded in death by his brother, George W. Lewis, IV and his stepmother, Vanessa Lewis. Always the life of any party, George would light up the room bringing smiles and laughter to anyone’s face. Known to live life to its fullest and always putting others before himself, he could start a conversation with any stranger and end it as lasting friends. George enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially during football season when he would reign as the fantasy football champion. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish, and to travel with his wife and children. A loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and dear friend to many, George will be forever remembered and missed. George is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Lewis of the home; his children, Taylor Lewis, Jacob Lewis (Sam), Jax Lewis and Fiona Lewis; his granddaughter, Felicity Lewis; his mother, Bruce Ezzell Parris (Bobby); father, George W. Lewis, III; his brothers, Joey Parris (Allyson) and Preston Proctor; his sisters, Nichole Dunn (Jake Hill) (Bryan Dunn) and Barbara Proctor (Bri); numerous nieces and nephews; his best friend, Lee Rose; and his dog, Blue. A Casual Celebration of George’s Life and Eulogy Service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Visitation with the family will follow the service until 4:00 PM in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.   1. I am so incredibly sad and shocked about George! I remember George and Liz from their younger days, before children when they bought the house in Carriage Farm! What a sweet loving couple that built a beautiful life together. George will be missed by all. What a wonderful soul!

He had amazing personality that made you comfortable. I remember baking cupcakes and him telling me how good my cupcakes were. We have shared some memorable moments at Wells Fargo. I am grateful for the time I got to know him.
