Frances Lane Joyner

Margaret Frances Lane Joyner, 88, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Pitt Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Robert David Lane and Channie Biggs Lane. Frances was a hairdresser with Jean's Beauty Shop in Rocky Mount for 47 years. She enjoyed cooking and sewing and was very devoted to her family. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Marvin Stallings officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 pm Saturday at Union Missionary Baptist Church, and other times at the home of her daughter, Carolyn, at 649 W. Castalia Road, Red Oak. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Wollett and her husband, Theodore and her grandson, Dylan all of Red Oak; her sisters, Martha Parker (Jimmy), Nancy Manning (Don); her brothers, Richard Lane (Faye), and Joe Lane (Dot) all of Rocky Mount; sisters-in-law, Gladys Joyner, Blanche Joyner and Ocie Parker; brothers-in-law, Lynwood Joyner (Miriam), Selby Joyner and Vernon Wallace (Barbara) all of Rocky Mount; as well as many nieces and nephews. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Joyner; her sisters, Louise Royer and Mary Denty; her brothers, David Lane and Lawrence Lane; her sister-in-law, Myrtlene Braswell; her brothers-in-law, Marvin Joyner and Alvin Glynn (John) Joyner. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Anderson and Dr. Elberry at Pitt Memorial Hospital and also to Nurses, Lisa Gooding and Trista Stiles as well as the entire 2nd floor CV Nurses for their love, care, and concern.
