MOMEYER - Floyd Alvin Leppla, 81, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010. He was born August 15, 1928 in Nash County, son of the late Alvin and Lillian Leppla. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Roscoe M. Edwards.
Floyd was in the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. He was a mason and welder by trade and worked for Trinity Industries, Masonite Corporation, Rockwool, Inc. where he retired after 40 years of service. He loved fishing and enjoyed beekeeping. He was a member of the Coastal Plain Beekeepers. He was also a member of the Momeyer Ruritan Club. He was an active member of Momeyer Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board.
Floyd leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Annie Leppla; daughter, Laura Joyner and husband Charles of Rocky Mount; two sons, Gary Leppla of Spring Hope and Steven Leppla and wife Gail of Raleigh; four grandchildren, Haley Tury and husband Adam of Morrisville, Chase Joyner, Logan Leppla and Nash Leppla;and one great-grandchild, Emma Finch Tury.
A funeral service to remember Floyd will be held at 2:00p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Momeyer Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Arnold officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Spring Hope Cemetery.
