Fairy Lynette Bunn Williams

Fairy Lynette Bunn Williams, age 72, passed away Monday, April 09, 2012 after a long battle with breast cancer. Born in Nash County on December 15, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Guy Bunn and Mattie Ruth Eason Bunn. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert Mark Williams. Fairy graduated from Benvenue High School in 1958 and went on to work in various secretarial and administrative roles for Battle, Winslow, Scott and Wiley Law Firm and Gay and Taylor Insurance Company. The last 25 years of her career were spent at Nash County Social Services where she retired in 2008. She leaves behind her children, Lynn Williams Spain and husband Robbie of Dortches, Robert Mark Williams II of Pearl River, New York and wife Erin and Amanda Williams of Raleigh; and grandchildren, Sarah Spain of Dortches, Ryan Mark Williams and Jillian Williams of New York. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Bunn (Brenda) of Rocky Mount; sister, Amy Bunn Woody of Little Rock, Arkansas; sister, Debbie Bunn Lee (Jim) of Clayton; brother, David Bunn of Rocky Mount; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the doctors, staff and volunteers at UNC Cancer Hospital, Dr. Bello and the staff at Autumn Care. Special thanks also go to Sarah Parrish, Tracey Chapman, Kim Carney and Jaimie Fisher who helped her at her home. A service to remember Fairy will be held at 6:30pm Thursday evening, April 12, 2012 in the chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with visitation with the family following the service.   1. It is with the deep grief that we give up our loved ones to death. Still it is a path that we will all have to take. The grief lossing our loved ones is so great, that we sometimes wonder if we can made it throu this morning period. It helps if we go to our faith, & depend on our God & Savior… Jehovah tells us that he is near to those who are broken hearted,& those who are crushed in spirit. (Ps. 3418) Jesus said that I am the resurrection & the life. (John 1125) What a wonderful gift we have been givin, to have the hope of seening our loved ones again.

  3. Debbie, Fairy’s battle with cancer is now over, but I doubt that it makes your heart any less heavy having lost your sister that you loved so much. She knew that she was loved very much by you and her caring family. You were a kind and supportive sister. I am certain that helped her through it all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of grief. I hope that fond memories and knowing that one day you will see your sister again will give you peace. May God be with you and your family.
