Evelyn Zaytoun Farris

Evelyn Zaytoun Farris, born March 20, 1915 in New Bern NC, passed away Monday evening, July 16, 2012. Evelyn was formerly a member of numerous organizations and boards including The Catholic Daughters of America, Pilot Club, Rocky Mount Garden Club, YMCA and Book Club. She was predeceased by her parents, Isabel and Ellis Zaytoun; husband, John Farris, Sr.; daughter, Peggy; and sisters, Vivian Salem and Connie Lamar. She is survived by her children, Joyce Baxter of Fairfax VA, Gloria Vaughan (Stan) of Charlotte, Pat Wooten of Rocky Mount, John Farris, Jr. of Wilmington; Judy Easley of Asheville, and Mary Grace Kearney of Wilmington; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Zaytoun and Henry Zaytoun; sister, Agnes Murman; and loving nieces and nephews. A rosary will be held at 6:30pm Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home followed by visitation from 7:00 - 8:30pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00am Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Tim Meares officiating.
