Evelyn Pitt Bradley

Evelyn Clay Pitt Bradley, age 89, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 5, 2014. Born in Edgecombe County on June 25, 1925 she was the daughter of the late William Arthur Pitt and Bessie Price Pitt. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Taswell Bradley; sisters, Virginia Price and Dal Vester; and brother, Clyde Pitt. Evelyn dedicated her life to the care and nurturing of her family. She was a faithful member of Oakdale Baptist Church. She leaves behind her daughters, Becky B. Walker of Cary, Jean B. Brown and Sandra B. Barnes, both of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Bradley Walker, Aimee Walker, Robin McCarty, Robert Valentine, Scott Siler and Chris Barnes; ten great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. A service to remember Evelyn will be held at 11:00am Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Oakdale Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Price officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Oakdale Baptist Church, 13037 US 64 Alt. West, Rocky Mount NC 27801 or 3HC Hospice, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro NC 27534. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of 3HC Hospice and her special caregivers for the love and compassion shown to Evelyn during the past months.
