WHITAKERS - Eva Alice Edwards Bradley, age 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 25, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Wrightsville Beach after a brief illness. Born in Weldon, NC on September 7, 1937, she was the daughter of the late William Jordan Edwards, Sr. and Virginia Bishop Edwards. She was also preceded in death by her son, Stephen Bailey Atwill, III; and her brothers, William Jordan Edwards, Jr. and Charles Murphy Edwards.
Eva Alice was a graduate of Weldon Senior High School and matriculated to Saint Mary's College. She was a member of Whitakers United Methodist Church. Eva Alice was so proud of her immediate and extended family and was especially proud of her grandchildren. She was a lover of all animals, especially dogs and horses and some of her fondest memories were of horseback riding with her father on Sunday afternoons. Eva Alice considered herself fortunate and blessed to have spent so many summers at Nags Head and was thankful that her parents allowed and encouraged her to have so many friends spend wonderful times with her at the beach. Those beach times continued on with family and friends at Wrightsville Beach to the present.
Eva Alice is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles "Marvin" Bradley; her son, William Edwards Atwill of Lynchburg, VA; her daughter, Eva Atwill Robbins and husband, W. C. Robbins, III, of Greensboro; and their children, Charles Bishop Robbins of Greensboro, and fianc, Jenna Leigh Barnes of Wilson and Eva Alice Robbins of Livingston, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews from the Bradley, Edwards, and Atwill families.
A Graveside Service to celebrate Eva Alice's life will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Whitakers Cemetery with Pastor Steve Bradley officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside.
The family offers a special thanks to Eva's personal caregiver, Leslie Pittman, whose devotion and service cannot be measured in words alone.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.
