Eunice Joyner Frazier

Eunice Joyner Frazier, 80, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010 Eunice was the eldest of nine daughters of the Ben Estelle Joyner family which also included six brothers. She was born August 17, 1929 in Nash County lovingly referred to as "Sister" to not only her siblings but many friends and family. She married A B Frazier, of Philadelphia Community, in 1947 and moved to Orlando, FL in 1957 retiring first from Publix Supermarkets and then Belk as a seamstress. Since moving back to Nashville in 1985, "Sister" has been a member of Nashville Baptist Church for more than 20 years, a long time "Meals-on-Wheels" volunteer, served as Chairman of the "Meals-on-Wheels" Committee, and a dedicated volunteer for the Oak Level Ruritan Club. Other than the love for her family, Eunices greatest joys were sewing and working in her beautiful yard. In addition to her parents, Eunice is preceded in death by her husband A B Frazier and two older brothers J B and Buddy Joyner. Survivors include: Son Rudy Frazier wife Linda of Milton, GA, Daughter Debi Davenport husband Rick of Nashville. Three Grandchildren Kelli Hardy husband A J of Buford, GA, Brandon Davenport wife Janna of Nashville Travis Davenport wife Kristin of Rocky Mount. Five Great Grandchildren Corey, Alex Jessica Hardy of Buford, GA, Jayce Preslee Davenport of Nashville. Other survivors include: four brothers Bob Joyner wife Mae, Harry Joyner wife Lori Bennie Joyner wife Kelle all of Nashville, Phil Joyner of Greenville. Also are eight sisters Lois Jones of Rocky Mount, Ethel Daniels, Helen Tyner, Faye Carter husband Bruce, Diane Briggs husband Wood all of Nashville, Jane Matthews husband Bob of Charlotte, Joyce Puckett husband John of Quarryville, PA, Joan Daniels of Apex. Sister-in-laws Joyce Joyner of Nashville Evangeline Joyner of Tallahassee, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 PM Tuesday at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, other times at the home of Debi Davenport, 600 Golfers Lane, Nashville. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Nashville Baptist Church, with Reverend Jason Gault officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nashville Baptist Church or Hospice Palliative Care of Nash General Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N.
