ROCKY MOUNT - Emma Bunn Braswell, age 73, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on February 19, 1949, she was the daughter of the late William and Hazel Bunn. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry T. Braswell and brother, Robert A. Bunn.
Emma leaves behind to cherish her memory her two sons, William Henry Braswell and wife, Angie, of Whitakers and Thomas Wayne Braswell and wife, Heather, of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristen Brown and husband Luke, John Braswell and wife Angela, Lyla Grace and Alyssa Hope; her two brothers, Richard Bunn of Wilson and Danny Bunn and wife, Sherry, of Florida; and two sisters, Paula Childress of Rocky Mount and Millie Scarbel and husband, Carmen, of Rocky Mount.
A Graveside Memorial Service to celebrate Emma's life will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Proctor Family Cemetery with Rev. David Taylor officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Emma Braswell's name to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Gideons International, P.O. Box 1851, Rocky Mount, NC 27802.

My precious sister is in heaven now with her husband, brother, mother, father and numerous family members today. What a fami reunion they must be having. Our prayers are with Tommy and Billy and all their family. You did a marvelous job looking after your mom. I will miss my dear sister she was always there for me. Love you so much my sister Em.

My condolences to Emma’s family. Emma and I graduated from West Edgecombe High School together and i remember as a sweet, kind person. My occasional encounters with her through the years just reinforced that impression. May knowing that others fondly remember Emma and your own special memories of her bring comfort.
