Elizabeth “Lib” Walker Williams

Raleigh - Elizabeth “Lib” Walker Williams, age 83, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2016. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on August 16, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Armond Walker and Rilla “Cammie” Campbell Burnett. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest Armond Walker, Jr., William Earl Walker, and Ervin Milton Walker. Lib worked for Dorothea Dix Hospital for 41 years as an office administrator as well as many of those years working with Dr. Robert Rollins. She was known to be a woman of great faith and a dedicated member of Emmanuel Baptist Church since 1967. Lib loved her church and participated in many church activities, her fondest memories being singing in the choir. She especially loved her family and cherished her memories she shared with them. Lib surrounded herself with love and expressed compassion to all those she knew. Her many expressions of care towards others can be summed up in her unforgettable voice saying “I love you” and her invitation to “come have some ice tea”. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. Lib leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Randal “Randy” Dale Williams of Raleigh; her granddaughter, Aubrey Ann Williams Nabbefeld of Stockbridge, WI; her great-granddaughter, Anna May Nabbefeld of Stockbridge, WI; her sister, Eunice Lee Walker Brown of Wilson; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Hayes Walker of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Martin Brown and his wife, Tamara, of Louisburg, Debbie Walker of Mt Pleasant, SC, Eric Walker and wife, Sheila, of Suwannee, GA, Karen Brown of Raleigh, Michael Brown and his wife, Martha, of Raleigh, Timothy Brown of Elm City, Irvin Walker, Jr. of Chicago, IL, Kenny Walker of Scotland Neck, and Bobby Walker of Savanna, GA; and many great nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2100 Noble Road, Raleigh with the Rev. Steve Tillis officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount.
