Dorothy Armstrong Fisher, 82, went home to heaven on Wednesday, February 01, 2012. She was born April 15, 1929 in Nash County, daughter of the late Charlie Lawrence Armstrong, Sr. and Lola Winfree Armstrong. She was also preceded in death by her husband, E. Lee Fisher, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Lee Fisher, Jr. and wife Peggy of Salisbury, NC; daughter, Mary and husband James Keen of Rocky Mount, NC; six grandchildren, Tyler and Bryan Keen, and Lee Allison, Anna, Bill and Holly Fisher; three sisters and one brother, Rachel A. Robinson, Patricia A. Luper (Roger), Charlie L. Armstrong, Jr. (Mavis) of Salem, Charlene A. Price (Clint) of Florence, SC; and several nephews and nieces.
Dorothy spent many years working various jobs that she enjoyed and also helped many people with crafts and projects. As a volunteer, Dorothy worked many hours with the Red Cross. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at Red Oak Cemetery with Rev. Gerry Blood officiating. A reception and visitation with the family will follow the graveside service at 12:00 noon at Englewood Assembly of God.
