Doreen May Council

Doreen May Council, age 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Born in Brisbane Queensland, Australia on January 1, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Henrich Stegmann and Alma Love Stegmann. She was also preceded in death by husband, Julian Council and her daughter, Mary Love Council Todd. Doreen was a longtime member of Falls Road Baptist Church which became her extended family. A devoted mother and friend, she was dearly loved by all who knew her. She leaves behind her daughter, Judith Harman and husband Allen of Pulaski, Virginia; son-in-law, Larry Todd of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Ashley Claire Knauff (B.J), Shelley Blair Hooker (P.J.), John Timothy Harmon, James Titus Harmon, and Jo Anna Elizabeth Greiner (Daniel); and four great-grandchildren, Caleb Nathaniel, Bethany Hope, Samuel Joseph, and Brooke Charity. She will also be remembered by her sisters, Thelma Myers, Isabel Hughes, and Mary Nowitzki; and brother, Billy Stegmann. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, December 6, 2013 at Pineview Cemetery with Rev. Steven Harduk officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N.   2. My sincere condolences to the family of Doreen for your loss. Without a doubt she will be missed! Even though death creates a hole in our emotions and our families, meditating on Jehovah `s promises outlined in his word, can provide us with comfort and hope-2 Cor. 13-4! Jehovah lets us know that death will be done away with completely-1 Cor. 1526! Can the dead live again The scriptures help us to appreciate that we can reunite one day with our family right here on earth. The resurrection account of Jesus with the Help of his father raising Lazarus, gives us insight to how the resurrection will take place on earth-John 1141-45! Jesus assures us that we can reunite with our dead loved ones-John 528, 29! May your family be comforted!
