ROCKY MOUNT - Donald Louis Killebrew (Killa), age 83, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019. Born in Pitt County on May 31, 1936, he was the son of the late Samuel Jasper Killebrew and Adele Baker Killebrew; sons, Donald Ray Killebrew; sisters, Dorothy Louise Killebrew, Jean Robertson and Edna Faye Mosley; brother; Billy Killebew.
Donald leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters, Dorothy Killebrew (Karen Tripp) of Clayton, NC, Ashley Joyner (Ted Proseus), of Millsboro, DE; sons, Ronald Louis Killebrew, of Rocky Mount, Stephen Ray Killebrew (Melissa), of Buford, GA; grand-children, Alexander Proseus, Ronald Louis Killebrew, II., Shannon Price, Shane Killebrew, Lauren Killebrew, and Aubrey Killebrew; great-grandchildren, Kelsie Jeans, Evie Price, Hadlie Price, Katlin Killebrew, Aydan Killebrew and Peyton Killebrew; sisters, Linda Faye Vincent (Bruce) and Bonnie Sue Jones (Joe, Jr.), all of Fountain; brother, Jimmy Mosley of Greenville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Donald's Life will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Visitation with the family will follow the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home until 8:00 PM.

Prayers go out to his family. Killa, as us neighborhood kids called him, was a wonderful man. Some of the best memories growing up was going to see him and leaving with candy just because. The world lost an amazing man.

Ronnie, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. I always remember Mr. Killebrew smiling and joking around with us kids back in the day at Wiggins Lake. Such a nice man. He will be greatly missed. Prayers going up for you and your family during this difficult time. God Bless You!
Gained your Heavenly Wings and Soaring High with the Angels. Great memories of Donald growing up. He was a great friend to my sweet Dad and would always joke around with us kids. He had a great personality and it always shined through in all that he did. Through the years I would see him at the mall walking…he would always stop and catch up with how everyone was. Great loss, loved this man for all that he was and all that he stood for. Prayer for his family.
