David Wesley Farmer

David Wesley Farmer, 77, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009. He was born February 15, 1932 in Wilson County, son of the late William and Nannie Farmer. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Nell Langley Farmer. David served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He carried on that same dedication and service to his community as a City of Rocky Mount police officer where he retired after 25 years. He was an active member of the Rocky Mount Shrine Club. David leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Kim Farmer Lawson of Nashville; grandson, David Ray Lawson; and two brothers, Milton Farmer of Spring Hope and Donald Farmer and wife Guy Jean of Spring Hope. The family will receive friends and relatives 7-8:30pm Friday, January 01, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember David will be at 11:00am Saturday, January 02, 2010 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
