Daisy Britton James

Daisy Britton James, age 76, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012. Born in Salters, SC on February 26, 1936, she was the daughter of the late William H. Britton and Letha B. Britton. She was also preceded in death by her son, Neil James; brother, Bill Britton; and sisters, Margaret Buckner and Mildred Barrett. Daisy was employed with JC Penney in the accounting department for over 35 years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three daughters, Gail Walters and husband William of Rocky Mount, Lisa Morehouse and husband Ron of Tarboro, and Karen Stallings and husband Wayne of Raleigh; eight grandchildren, James Holland (Danielle), Bradley Walters (Dana), Christopher Powell (Michelle), Andrew Walters, Alyssa Morehouse, Matthew Stallings, Sarah and Hannah Stallings; special friend, Noelle Joyner; and four great-grandchildren, Haley and Cheyenne Holland, Christian Powell, and Colton Walters. The family will receive friends and relatives from 1:30pm to 3:00pm Sunday, July 15, 2012 at West Edgecombe Baptist Church. A service to remember Daisy will be held at 3:00pm following the visitation with Rev. Terry W. Brooks officiating. Burial will be at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to West Edgecombe Baptist Church Building Fund, 13821 NC 43 North, Rocky Mount NC 27801.
