  3. Shirley, Bobby and Cheryl, I am so saddened to hear of your mother and grandmother’s passing. She was the last of the trio of friends, the Pierce’s, Harrison’s and Rogers’, that lasted from the 40’s until death began taking them one by one. There are so many memories flooding through me at this time of all the wonderful times we spent together. I know when Mother and Daddy were living at the coast and I was back in Rocky Mount, she and your Dad would take me out to lunch on Sundays after church. They became my second parents. I know she always liked to kid my mother about being older than she was although it was only a few months. Oh what a great reunion is taking place in Heaven at this time. She will be missed greatly but you all know that we will see them all again some day and I believe it will be soon. Love to you all. Charlie didn’t know her as long but he admired her and sends his love.

  4. Thank You Jesus for the opportunity to meet Mrs. Pierce. She certainly was a joy and I know she feels right at home with You by her side!! Praying for the family’s Peace and Comfort! ! Deanna Mills, RN

  5. Dear Shirley, Bobby and Shirley, Aunt Christine was a Wonderful Christian Woman and a Fabulous Aunt!! Her life on this earth was truly a blessing to me and to so many others. I still have vivid memories of going to see her as a child on the third floor of Belk-Tyler’s in Rocky Mount where she was always dressed perfectly and impeccably groomed, with makeup on and every hair in place. I used to refer to her as Ms. Belk-Tyler’s. Throughout my adult life, she stayed in touch with me, with phone calls from time to time and Christmas Cards every year. When my husband (Joe) was so critically sick, she stayed in touch and constantly prayed for him and for me too. When my own mother (her sister) was so sick for so long, Aunt Christine stayed in touch with me and always prayed for my mother. She told me one time not long before my mother passed away that her prayer list had gotten so long that some nights she fell asleep before she had finished her prayers and when she woke up she just picked up where she had left off. While it is sad that she is no longer with us here on this earth, I am so very thankful that she is now in a much better place where there is no pain and suffering but only comfort and peace. Take good care of yourselves!! Love, Brenda (Griffin) Burns
