Chesley P. Freeman

ROCKY MOUNT - Chesley Pearl Freeman Sr., 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. He was born on April 08, 1922 to the late Jimmy Lee and Mary Freeman. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Robbins Freeman, son Chesley (Chet) P. Freeman, Jr., brothers, Clarence and Alton Freeman, and sister, Frances Brown. Chesley was a retired textile worker, maintenance man, an avid furniture upholsterer, and a greeter at Wal-Mart Inc. He served his country in the Army during World War II. He was a very loved person and always had lots of love to give to anyone that he called a friend. He will surely be missed. Chesley was an honorary member of New Vision Family Worship Center where he was an active member. Left to cherish his memory, his daughters, Sandra Morris and husband Mike, Sarah Harrell and husband Howard, and Tammy Bullock; grandchildren, Keith Davis and wife Bria of Waynesville, NC, Angela Borden and husband Chris of Sterling, VA, Michael Morris, Jr. of Knightdale, NC, Bryan Morris and wife, Erica of Cary, NC and Chet Bullock of Nashville, NC; great-grandchildren, Drake Davis, Kaitlin and Sophia Borden; his brother, Howard Freeman; sisters, Mavis Richardson and Joyce Smith. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to New Vision Family Worship Center, 4923 Oak Level Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27803. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Friday, June 18, 2010 at New Vision Family Worship Center with the Rev. Dr. Howard Harrell, Rev. Mark Pridgen and Rev. Charles Mosley officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8:00pm Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home and other times at the home of Sarah and Howard Harrell.
