Charles Russell Moore

Rocky Mount - Charles Russell Moore, age 74, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on October 24, 1941, he was the son of the late Johnny Thomas Moore and Virginia Williams Moore. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Diane Moore; and two brothers, Randy Moore and Gerry Moore. Russell will be most remembered for his creativity and love for life. There was no engine which he could not modify to his liking, and no piece of wood went without taking the form of something unique. He had a talent as a craftsman, and for auto body restoration which was evident by his over 50 plus years working for both Phillip's Body Shop and later with Moore's Body Shop. His passion for cars and all things with combustible engines went far behind the average sportster, as his powered lawn mower demonstrated his mechanical talent. Russell lived his life to the fullest and there was never any slowing down. When he wasn't working on cars, his love for family was even more evident as he loved spending time with his family and friends. He made his home his castle and welcomed all to share his memories and with those memories he will be missed by all. Russell leaves behind to cherish his memory, his two sons, Charles Joseph Moore of Battleboro and Rodney Thomas Moore and wife, Melanie, of Rocky Mount; his daughter, Samantha Moore and husband, Greg, of Battleboro; three grandchildren, Joshua Moore, Gracen Moore and Austin Cole Moore; and his fianc of many years, Linda Christine Wright. He is also survived by his brother, Dennis Moore of Falkland. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
