ROCKY MOUNT - Betty Brame McCullen, age 86, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017. Born in Rocky Mount, NC on June 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Luther Ballard Brame and Cleo Daughtridge Brame. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Marie Brame Williamson and Rachel Brame Stanfield.
Betty was a lifelong resident of Rocky Mount. She was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church. Betty always had a kind smile and kind words for everyone she met. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband of 65 years, James Lynwood McCullen; son, William Lynwood McCullen and wife, Sharon, of Wayne, PA. She is also survived by grandson, William Christopher McCullen of Frankfurt, Germany; and nieces, Joan Bennett Roberts of Atlanta, GA; and Janet Williamson Brandt of San Diego, CA.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Pineview Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 100 S. Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
