She is also survived by her four cherished grandsons: Charles Alden Love, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, Edward Kemper Love of Rocky Mount, NC, Frank Gehman Jolley, Jr. of Greensboro, NC, and Thomas Clifford Jolley of Chapel Hill, NC.
Betsy graduated from Rocky Mount High School and Womens College of the University of North Carolina in Greensboro (now UNC-Greensboro). She served on various committees; some of which included the Altar Guild, LOGOS, and the Columbarium Committee. Betsy was a member of the Twentieth Century Study Club and a sustaining member of the Rocky Mount Junior Guild.
Betsy had fond memories of special time spent with family and friends at Nags Head and Pine Knoll Shores. In recent years she enjoyed the beauty of nature found in her own backyard and the neighborhood. She particularly loved her flower garden and the birds that accompanied it. Throughout her life she loved working with her hands; planting flowers in her garden, creating cross stitch heirlooms and writing in calligraphy. Betsy also enjoyed cooking and preparing her special recipes for family, friends and neighbors. Her passion for doing for others was exemplified by her efforts to always remember birthdays and special occasions. She spent countless hours in the card shop carefully selecting the perfect card to express her sentiments.

We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We are beyond saddened by Mrs. Jolley’s passing. She was such a kind and elegant lady with a truly sweet spirit. We will miss sitting behind her at Church on Sundays most of all. May you find comfort and peace through God’s grace in the days and weeks ahead. Bill, Jan and Landon Norwood

Beth sorry to hear of your mothers death You are as beautiful and elegant as your mother and her gracefulness certainly shines through with you. May peace be with you and your family today and all the days of your lives. You will see her again. Jan Turner Arnold
Betsy had a true spirit that sought out genuine personalities and characters. We met through mutual friends and she became a true blessing to me. Over the years of working in her home we became close and enjoyed each others company. We also enjoyed some of the same hobbies such as, gardening, bird watching and cooking. We shared information on all, including recipes and even a joke or two. It is hard to speak of her in past tense because the memory of her is still so vibrant. Before she left, she instilled a bit of herself in each of us that truly knew her. I will miss her forever. Ann Vester
Beth, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. Unfortunately, I did not know about her death until reading the news on Facebook. This picture of her really takes me back to our school days. I remember her as being beautiful and very welcoming. It was always fun to be at your house!! Take care of yourself. My sympathy to you and your family, Cindy Thurman Rutledge
