ROCKY MOUNT - Alice Graham Harrison, 85, died on Wednesday, September 08, 2010. She was born February 04, 1925 in Goldsboro NC, daughter of the late Hartwell L. Graham and Helen P. Graham.
Alice attended Greensboro College and later married the love of her life, Don B. Harrison, Jr. in 1953. They were married for 42 years until his death on October 03, 1995. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Junior Guild. She was a longtime resident of Rocky Mount but due to declining health spent the last 6 years at Stewart Health Center of Springmoor Retirement Home in Raleigh, N.C. Alice was a loving mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to the nurturing and care of her family.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Beth Harrison of Raleigh, N.C.; son, Don B. Harrison and wife Gail of Columbia, S.C.; three grandchildren, Biggs Harrison, Richard Harrison and Abigail Harrison of Columbia, S.C.; brother, Hartwell L. Graham and wife Bettie of Raleigh, N.C.; and sister-in-law, Ethel H. Roberts and husband G.L. of Aldelphi, Maryland.
A graveside service to remember Alice will be held at Pineview Cemetery, Section 50 at 2:00p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010. The cemetery is located at 436 Pineview Street, Rocky Mount, N.C. Visitation with the family will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 110 S. Church Street, Rocky Mount NC 27804, Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh NC 27607 or a charity of your choice.
