Willie J. House

Pinetops, NC - Willie J. House, 67, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010. He was born in Nash County July 30, 1942 to the late Willie A. House and Gladys Ruth Jessup House. Willie was a truck driver for over 45 years and was known affectionately as the "Working Man". He was a very loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Pam Grogan and her husband, Dave of Rocky Mount; sons, Keith House, Alvin House and his wife, Michelle all of Rocky Mount; sisters, Glenda Neal of Sharpsburg, Gladys Wright and husband, Eddie of Petersburg, VA, Carolyn Morris and husband, Bobbie, Betty Jean Connie and husband, Ray all of Rocky Mount; brother, Albert House and wife, Peggy of Rocky Mount; eight grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special friend, Lois Best of Pinetops. His sister Connie Outlaw preceded him in death. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Grogan officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. He was always the same and became a true friend to me as well as many others that knew him. Although we only had phone conversations over the last year he was still the kind and loving person I had know for the past twenty odd years.   9. Will never forget you…my favorite thing about my Uncle Willie was everytime I saw him we’d hug and he’d pick me up right off my feet squeezing me. Didn’t see him as often as I would have liked, but he has always been in my heart and will forever remain there.
