William Lee Proctor, 80, passed away Thursday March 26, 2015. He was born in Edgecombe County on October 30, 1934 to the late Leslie Lee Proctor and Lessie Mae Proctor Proctor. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Laura Carol Rackley Proctor and a son, Danny Keith Proctor. William was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.
Left to cherish his memory is his sons, William Randall Proctor (Teresa) of Newport, NC, and Larry Scott Proctor (Diana) of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Leslie Carol Proctor, Beverly Gail Tanner, Amber White (Claude), Amanda Snow (Michael), Matthew Daniel Proctor, Samantha Nicole Proctor, and Stephanie Lynn Proctor; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hailey, Jacob, Crista, Ryan, Jamie, Katelyn, Mackenzie, Tyler, Leigha, Ian, Branson, Sophia and Harley; daughter in law, Cindy Balkcum Proctor; brother, Alan Proctor (Betty) of Old Lyme, CT; and two sisters, Ann P. Rackley of Rocky Mount and Debra P. Henry (Clint) of Dortches.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Friday, March 27, 2015 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember William will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with Pastor Jeffrey Ingold officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

He was such a kind and gentle man!!! He will be dearly missed by his granddaughter and my daughter Amber White!!! He was such a great Father-in-law and a wonderful Grandfather!!!
