ROCKY MOUNT - W. Marshall Jones, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Born in Wilson County, NC on February 19, 1950, he was the son of the late Troy Wade Jones and Bertha Jackson. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Tedder.
Marshall was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam as a line man, or wire dog as known amongst fellow Army communication specialists. Along with his wife and daughter, he attended Englewood Presbyterian Church. He retired from ILCO Key Systems, formally Kaba-ILCO as an electrician, however throughout his career he also had worked on various NASA projects as well as the Hoover Dam. Marshall enjoyed spending time with his wife and daughter and together they loved showing horses at various events. The memories of each event were captured frame by frame, like pages in a book, as Marshall snapped photos of their time together. A faithful friend to many, any conversation with Marshall would ultimately include his love for the Tarheels. A dedicated husband, loving father, and loyal friend, he will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
Marshall leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 41 years, Luanne Jones and his daughter, Amy Andersen, both of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by his brother, Randy Jones and his wife, Betty Jean, of Rocky Mount; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; his second family, the Langley Family; and his furry child, Miss Kiddle, his cat.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Dr. Rob Westlund, Pastor of Englewood Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to Englewood Presbyterian Church, 100 S. Englewood Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

My condolences to the Jones family for your loss. Although Marshall has left Kaba Ilco some years ago, believe me there are still alot of Marshall Jones stories told around here. He was a funny person to be around. May you rest in peace my friend.

Luanne, So sorry to hear of Marshall’s passing away. I didn’t know about this until I got back home because of my father’s passing away. (I was with him the whole month of November.) So sorry I could not visit with you and Amy, but please know that you are in my prayers and thoughts. Marshall was such a kind man and always mentioned you and Amy whenever we talked over the phone about work related issues. May God be with you! Love ya, Janice Dickens
