Joe is survived by his wife, Alice Barefoot Adams of Rocky Mount; his daughters, Teresa Adams Pearson (Steve) of Rocky Mount, Betty Adams Denton (Chris) of Rocky Mount; his son, Joe Eugene Adams (Shawn) of Rocky Mount; his grandchildren, Justin Pearson, Daniel Pearson (Casey), Kristin Denton Gibson (Thomas), Ryan Denton (Monica), Tabitha Johnson (Juan), Zachary Johnson, Haleigh Adams, and Sabrina Adams; his nine great-grandchildren; his sisters, Patricia Adams Barefoot of Rocky Mount, Betty Adams Lafave (Sonny) of CA, Peggy Adams Thurman of Nashville, and Linda Adams Grace (Eddie) of DE; his brother, Marvin Lee Adams of Nashville; his sister in law, Lena Mae Adams of Elm City; and many nieces and nephews. 2. To all the family I just want you all to know how very sorry I am for the passing of Joe. He was a great person and I have laughed at a many of his jokes or funny stories that he was always telling. He was a joy to be around and he is going to be so missed. The last time I saw him he was sitting on Marvin’s front porch with a bunch of us. We had a lot of fun that day just passing the time. That is the way I will always remember him. With lots of love, Frances Rose
