Rocky Mount - Teresa Evon Eggers Morris, age 63, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015. Born in Gastonia, NC on September 28, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Charles Eggers and Betty Jean Dobbins Eggers.
A dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Teresa cherished her two granddaughters as they meant the world to her. She had a smile that would light up a room and a passion for life that was contagious. She was a natural caregiver and an example to the world on how to live your life for others. She was an avid participant in Relay for Life. Teresa will be missed by all who knew her, but her loving spirit will never be forgotten as she was everything to her family.
Teresa leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Tommy Morris; her daughter, Betty Morris Odham and her husband, Dean, of Whitakers. She is also survived by her two precious granddaughters, Haley Madison Odham and Hannah Grace Odham; her sister, Kim Page and her husband, Tim and her two brothers, Richard Eggers and his girlfriend, Mickie; and Ronald Eggers and his wife, Carolyn; her nephews, William and his wife, Megan; Buddy and his wife, Cassie; and Ron, Jr; also her beloved dog, Sunshine.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 6:30 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services. Visitation with the family will follow the service until 9:00 PM.

She was one of the sweetest people I have ever had the privilege to know…We met at Tar Heel Home Health many years ago, and after she stopped working there, we still remained friends…No, we didn’t talk everyday, nor did we visit everyday, but when we did talk, we picked up exactly where we left off with our last conversation…She had a heart made of solid gold, and there’s nothing that she wouldn’t do for anyone…She will be truly missed by all of those that knew her…I can’t even begin to imagine the pain that Betty, Tommy, Kim and the rest of her family are feeling today, but always remember, y’all will always be in my prayers…May God bless and comfort your hearts… Love, Carol Hagan
