Sylvia Boykin Andracchio

ROCKY MOUNT - Sylvia Boykin Andracchio, age 83, passed away on August 22, 2020. Born on May 29, 1937 in Sims, NC, Sylvia was the daughter of the late John Thomas Boykin and Viola Bexley Boykin. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Thomas Carroll Boykin. Sylvia was graduated from Wingate Junior College, East Carolina College with a B.S. in Elementary Education, and East Carolina College with a Masters of Arts in Education. She taught school in Tampa, FL and Norfolk, VA. In 1960, Sylvia married the love of her life, Dr. Vincent Charles Andracchio. Sylvia was a long time member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. She was also a member of the Nash Medical Auxiliary, Rocky Mount Junior Guild, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Over their 60 years together, Sylvia and Vince enjoyed traveling with friends and family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and five grandchildren. Sylvia is survived by her husband, Dr. Vincent Charles Andracchio, her daughters Lisa Stone, and husband, Paul, of Rocky Mount, Sylvia Saint-Amand and husband, Champ, of Fayetteville, NC, Maria Patterson and husband, Stacey, of Rocky Mount, and her son Vincent Charles Andracchio II and wife, Genie, of Rocky Mount. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Ann Dunn Andracchio of Los Angeles, CA, Tripp Andracchio of Raleigh, NC, Brice Andracchio of Atlanta, GA, Davis Saint-Amand of Fayetteville, NC, and Simon Stone of Rocky Mount. Also surviving is her brother, Bexley Boykin and wife, Helen, of Sims, NC. A Private Family Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church with Father Tim Mears celebrating. I recall the beautiful Sylvia on her visit to Australia in the early 1980’s and then again during my stay with my beautiful American family in Rocky Mount, NC. in the 1990’s. I pray you all gain the strength to get through this very hard time, remember the wonderful memories and life that your lovely Mother and Wife bestowed upon all your hearts. I shall never forget the kindness and love of you Slyvia, may you now soar, be free and happy with all those whom have all passed before us.
