NASHVILLE - Stewart Dean Hendricks, 54, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2015. Born August 26, 1961, he is the son of Joyce Medford and Marshall Hendricks. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Griffin.
He is the beloved son of Joyce Medford of Rocky Mount and Marshall Hendricks and his wife Faye Jones Hendricks, also of Rocky Mount. Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister, Laura Beth Marlowe and her husband Blake of Rocky Mount.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 North Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Rev. Lutrell Spell officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home.

For 34 plus years we have shared many memories together, Thou you and mom never married we always saw you as our Dad. I know you are now reacquainted with our mom (Mary) the love of your life. When mom passed away we saw a single yellow butterfly all around us that day and from that day forward we associated yellow butterflies with mom (Nana). Now that you have passed we will also associate a pair of yellow butterflies letting us know that you and mom are together again looking down on your 3 girls, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. My dear friend Stewart has gone. I have just heard.
To Faye whom I don’t know I am very hurt and sorry he has gone. We were in school together and rode bikes and talked cars alot. He came to see me quite a bit years ago in Whitakers NC and we lost touch. He was as fine a guy as I have ever known. I asked about him all the time and today I saw his mother in the obiturary. My name is Louis Hinson. I’m 62 now and can’t believe he left in 2015. My wish today is that you Faye could find a minute to call me (252 382 0685) Would like to speak to you as you know him best.
