Sidney Earl Leonard

ROCKY MOUNT - Sidney Earl Leonard, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Born in Nash County, NC on June 17, 1928, he was the son of the late Johnnie Leonard and Carrie Wood Leonard. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Margie Proctor Leonard; son, Jimmy Leonard; his sister, Metta Rae Bone; and brothers, Jack Leonard, George Leonard, Cecil Leonard, and Johnnie Leonard.
A man of faith, Sidney was a member of Christ Fellowship Church. For many years he was also a member of the local Rocky Mount Moose Lodge 938. Sidney retired as a tractor trailer truck driver for Inco Inc. following many years. While on the road he especially enjoyed listening to Country and Bluegrass music. A beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Sidney will be always remembered.
Sidney leaves behind to cherish his memory, son, Tony Leonard; his sister, Sally West; and brother, Shelton Leonard.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum with Rev. Daniel Pead officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

My deepest condolences for the loss of your loved one. I would like to share some words of comfort that helped our family during such a difficult time. Revelation 213,4 promises that God will wipe away all tears from their eyes and death will be no more . I truly hope that these words will bring comfort to your family as it did ours.
To The Family I am sorry for your loss the Bible is very comforting to all of us during our time of loss. I think about the scripture John 528,29 which states all those in the memorial tombs will come back to life again. Also, Revelation 213,4 where it states death will be no more nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. These and other scriptures encourages me with my loss. With My Deepest Sympathy
