Russell Lee Langley, Jr. born August 28, 1938 passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Lee Langley and Thelma Lindsey Langley and sister Naomi Langley.
Russell was owner and operator of the family business Langley's Auto Sales at 401 W. Thomas Street in Rocky Mount for over 55 years. Russell was an avid bowler and a member of the Rocky Mount Bowling Hall of Fame.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn Robbins Langley; his son, Allen Langley and wife LaRee; his daughter, Gina Alford and husband Travis; six grandchildren, Janice Davenport and husband Shannon, Melvin Langley and wife Cheryl, Amanda Christman and husband Chet, Johnathan Langley and wife Alicia, Brittany Alford and Tiffany Alford; and seven great-grandchildren, AJ, CJ, Dustin, Trace, Cole, Grace and Cale. Other loving family members include his sister, Dolly Joyner and husband Arnold, brothers, Donald Ray Langley and wife Shelia and Ralph Langley; one brother-in law and two sisters-in law, their spouses; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family is from 6:30pm - 8:30pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, and other times at the home. Funeral Services are being held at 2:00pm Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in the chapel at Wheeler and Woodlief with burial immediately following at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
