Ronald David Gupton

Ronald David Gupton, 66, went home to meet the Lord, Wednesday, January 06, 2010. He was born December 03, 1943 in Edgecombe County, son of Jack and Marie Gupton. Ron was owner and operator of Sunn-Co Tile, Inc. and Designer Tile, LLC. Ron leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 48 years, Violet Hawkins Gupton; two daughters, Carolyn Gupton Baker and husband, Chris of Wilson and Pam Gupton Batten and husband, John of Nashville; four grandsons, Casey and Cale Baker, and Nick and Andrew Batten; one special sister, Brenda Gupton Bunn and husband, Richard of Dortches; and several nieces and nephews.. The family wishes to thank Ron's caregivers at Friends of Hospice of Nash General, especially Brenda Respess and Debbie Stilley for their kindness and support during Ron's illness. A special thanks also goes to Ron's friends at the Waffle House for all the great meals and good conversation shared with him over the years. The family will receive friends and relatives at 7-8:30pm Thursday, January 07, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember Ron will be at 2:00pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dave Grogan officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
