Robert Michael Riley

Robert Michael Riley, Sr., 66, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010. He was born July 04, 1944 in Missouri Valley, Iowa, the eldest child of the late Robert Elton and Frances Riley. He was also preceeded in death by his great-grandson, Braylen Riley. Robert had a long-term career as an engineer. He loved spending time with his family and friends especially the great joy he received from his grandchildren. He was a Master Woodsmith who enjoyed the time spent building in his workshop and sawmill. Robert attended Tabernacle of Praise Church. He leaves behind his loving wife of 12 years, Lizzie Parker Riley; two children, Rhonda Riley Little and husband Marshall of Des Moines, Iowa and Robert Michael Riley, Jr. and wife Crystal of Parsons, Kansas; six grandchildren, Micah Moeller, Minao Little, Talon Riley, Shelby Riley, Jensen Riley and Carsen Riley; brother, Dennis Riley and wife Rene; and sister Debra Finken and husband John, both of Missouri Valley, Iowa. He is also survived by step-children, Jacqueline Waters and husband Jason, Brian Eskew and wife Melissa, and Julie Turner and husband John; and eight step-grandchildren, Jonathan Littlefield, Jordyn Waters, Jessica Waters, Brianna Eskew, Taylor Eskew, Julianna Turner, Michael Ian Turner, and Matthew Turner, all of Rocky Mount. He leaves behind many friends and relatives The family will receive friends and relatives from 7-8:30p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember Robert will be held at 2:00p.m. Wednesday afternoon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Woody Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
