Robert Alton Glover

ROCKY MOUNT - Robert Alton Glover, age 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, January 29, 2021. Born in Nash County, NC on August 26, 1929, he was the son of the late William Henry Glover and Ellen Burgess Glover. He was also preceded in death by his young son, Robert Alton Glover, Jr.; his brothers, William Henry Glover, Jr., Carl Glover; and his sister Mary Ann Glover Bass. Robert was a faithful charter member of Englewood United Methodist Church of which he served in many capacities throughout the years. He was founder and president of Eastern Tool, Inc. of which he worked side by side with his son, Clifton, and was still able to go to work each day. "Well done, good and faithful servant!" Matthew 25:23 Robert is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 68 years, Evelyn Gay Glover; his beloved son, Clifton Keith Glover and wife, Fran; his granddaughters, Cameron Glover Robey and husband, David, and Chandler Glover Hatley and husband, Zach, each which he adored and was extremely proud; his loving niece, Melody Lohmeyer and husband, Bill. A Private Family Burial will be held at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Robert's loving memory to Englewood United Methodist Church, 300 S. Circle Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or to the charity of your choice to help others in need. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N.   8. Dear Mrs. Glover & Clifton, I am deeply sorry for your loss. As you know, I became so fond of Mr. Glover when I worked with him at Eastern Tool during my high school and college years. He taught me so much about life and shared wisdom that I have found beneficial to this very day. He was a kind and generous man, and truly had a profound impact on my life.
