Rafiq Salim "Sammy" Soufan, age 47, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011. He was born in Jerusalem on January 22, 1964. His parents, Salim Soufan and Hamdeh Hamdan and his sister, Anam preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Fatin, and his cherished daughters, Jeanine, Ayat, Haneen and Nedaa. His wife and daughters were his life and providing for his daughters education was very important to him.
Since 1987, Rafiq operated Sam's Take Out. He took pride in being able to provide a valuable service and his customers became his extended "family".
Rafiq's upbeat demeanor, great generosity and caring heart touched everyone he came in contact with. His positive attitude and dedication to family and the Rocky Mount community will greatly be missed.

We are so sadden by the loss of Sammy. Sammy was loved and respected by a lot of people. Our prayers go wil continue to go out to the family. Sammy was 1 of a kind.
