Pamela Teresa Johnson Shafer

ROCKY MOUNT - Pamela Teresa Johnson Shafer, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Born in Wilson County, NC on December 31, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Chester Johnson and Eva Rebecca Pridgen Johnson. A gifted and talented artist her entire life, Pamela especially enjoyed creating beautiful oil paintings and working with pottery along with other arts and crafts. In addition to endeavoring in her artistic nature, she loved traveling to the mountains, fishing, and the mere thought of Christmas would always make her eyes shine a little bit brighter. A wonderful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Pamela was the glue that bond her family together as family meant everything to her. Pamela is survived by her husband Christopher Shafer; her sons, Charlie Armstrong and Terry Harrelson; her grandchildren, Chaya Harrelson, Charlie Armstrong, and Zachary Armstrong; her brother, Gerald Johnson and wife Jessica; her sisters, Leigh Baker and husband Sam and Donna Daniel and husband Keith; and many nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service to celebrate Pamela's life will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Pastor Gerald Parker officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Pamela's memory to Friends of Rocky Mount Animals, Inc., PO Box 8766, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
