Noah “Neal” Cornelius Leggett

Noah “Neal” Cornelius Leggett, Jr., age 70, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012. Born in Nash County on May 16, 1942, he was the son of the late Noah Cornelius Leggett, Sr. and Myrtle Tharrington Leggett. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Linda Webb Leggett; sister, Beverly L. Bulluck; and nephew, John Drew Stanley. Neal served his country in the United States Navy. A true family man, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. A love of the outdoors, Neal spent many an hour on the water fishing. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a postal employee after 24 years of service. He leaves behind one daughter, Leslie Leggett Peele and husband Adam; two sons, Noah Leggett III “Corey” and wife Sara and Steven Garret Leggett, all of Rocky Mount; three grandchildren, Kaleb Farrow, Linden Peele, and Brianna Leggett; sister, Teri L. Stanley and husband Drew of Nashville; brother, Larry Edward Leggett and wife Vickie of Nashville; brother-in-law, Billy Bulluck of Battleboro; “adopted grandchild”, Dakota Smith; “adopted son”, Todd Christianson and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and relatives 7:00pm - 8:30pm Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. A service to remember Neal will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday afternoon in the funeral home chapel with Parker Philips officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery.
