ENFIELD - Nellie Mae Jones Hudgins, age 93, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018. Born in Nash County, NC on January 10, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Luther Jones and Maggie Garris Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Alexander Hudgins, sisters, Elizabeth Tippett and Dot Ezzell; brothers, Russell, Marvin, Franklin, Junior, and William "Buddy" Jones, twin brother; and granddaughter, April S. Henderson.
Nellie leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Donna Sue Hudgins and Nellie "Bonnie" S. Inscoe and husband, Donald. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Jennifer Velasquez; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Tyler Velasquez; sisters, Gertrude Light and Eunice Finch; and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery, 23 Justice Branch Road, Enfield, NC 27823.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, September 10, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Nellie. She was a very strong independant women who definitely didn’t mind telling you what she thought. She will be truly missed. I loved and respected her so much. May you all find comfort and peace in God’s arms.
