Miriam Taylor Frederick

ROCKY MOUNT – Miriam Taylor Frederick, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Born in Wilson County, NC on September 24, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Zadock M. Taylor and Louise Batts Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Clifton “Ray” Frederick; her brother, Robert Gene Taylor; her sisters, Frances Taylor Gay and Shirley Louise Taylor Wheeler; and special nephew, Robert Alan Gay. Miriam was such a dear sister, wife, and aunt with a very compassionate heart. She was kind, sweet, loving, and generous. Miriam will be missed by all who knew her and were lucky enough to be a part of her life. She loved all her family members and was always delighted for the opportunity to take many trips over the years, with her family and Ray’s entire family. Miriam spent many years working with Dr. Joel Locke in his dental and business practices. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church and a prior member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church. Miriam is survived by her sister, Jan Shore and husband, Ronald, of Longview, TX; her sister/cousin, Joyce Taylor Brown; her sister-in-law, Shirley Frederick; her nieces, Brenda Wall and husband, Larry, and Donna Park Jesberg and husband, Randy; her nephews, Tony Gay and wife, Linda, Greg Frederick and wife, Alison, Keven Smith, Rick Park, Randy Park and wife, Fa, Steve Park, Mike Taylor and wife, Debbie, and Barry Taylor and wife, Cindy; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. A Celebration of Miriam’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Dr. David Joyner officiating. Burial of Cremains will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. The family would like to say thank you to Miriam’s special caregivers with Stacy’s @ Home Healthcare, Lynetric Evans and Samantha Webb also other staff members.Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Miriam’s memory to First United Methodist Church, 100 South Church Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
