Mildred Crowder Felton

ROCKY MOUNT - Mildred Crowder Felton, age 85, passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Born in Wilson County, NC on April 27, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Crowder and Irene Carraway Crowder. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Milburn Gerald “MG” Felton; and two brothers, Charlie Crowder, Jr. and Edward Lee Crowder. Mildred was a beautiful, fun-loving lady who enjoyed a good laugh. She worked at Carolina Telephone in the 1950s and then left the workforce to raise her family. She returned to the workforce in the 1980s at Planters Bank (later Centura Bank) as a teller. She was beloved by all of her customers for her warm smile and her intense focus on serving them. Mildred leaves behind to cherish her memory, three sons, Milburn Gerald Felton, II and wife, Susan, of Red Oak; Michael Gregory Felton and wife, Cindy, of Nashville; and Mark Gilbert Felton and wife, Debbie Sue, of Overland Park, KS. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services with the Reverend Matthew Felton officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. The family would like to thank Josephine Joyner for her many years of faithful care and friendship to our Mom and also the staff at Spring Arbor Cottage for the wonderful care given these past two years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nash Health Care System Hospice Palliative Care, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
