NASHVILLE - Michael Wayne Ford, age 51, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. Michael was born in Nash County, NC on July 4, 1969. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard "Wayne" Ford. Michael is survived by his mother, Nellie Davis Ford of Nashville; his sister, Donna Ford Smith and husband, "Ricky" Richard Samuel Smith, of Rocky Mount; his nephew, "Maverick" Richard Samuel Smith of Nashville; his niece, Jessica Amber Smith of Rocky Mount; and numerous cousins. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Dempsey Winstead and Ricky Sorie officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.   1. I had the pleasure of seeing Michael several times a week when I shopped in the produce department at Harris Teeter. He was such a gentle and kind person and a stellar employee. If I needed anything, he stopped what he was doing to go to the back to find it. He will be greatly missed. I was in there today and it just didn’t seem the same without the warmth of Michael’s presence. Rest In Peace, Michael.

  7. Michael was a nice guy and always smiling with a great personallty. he was always fun to be around. He loved everybody and always ready to give them a hug. Pray for Nell and Donna for strength in these days,.

  9. I shopped at HT and got to know Michael over the years. He was always so helpful anytime that I needed something. Such a nice and caring gentleman. I am going to miss him so much. I send you all, his family, my deepest sympathy. He will be missed by many. Rest In Peace, Michael.

  11. Mike was a long time family friend who became a part of my family. There was never a time that we seen him and he didn’t say he loved us! He was such a good hearted person and willing to help many!! We love you always and will miss you!
