Michael L. Ward

June 27, 1963 ~ May 14, 2014

Michael L. Ward, age 50, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Born in Philadelphia, PA on June 27, 1963, he is the son of Lenwood Ward and Virginia Royal Ward of Cary. Michael loved God, his family, his church, and his job at QVC in Tarboro. He enjoyed writing, watching movies, and spending time with his family. Having the ability to make anyone around him laugh, Michael was a compassionate man who would help people without ever letting them know it was him who had done it. He listened to the heart of people and always had a word of encouragement. Of all the things he has done in his life, his biggest accomplishments were being a wonderful, present father, a loving husband, a devoted son, and a great friend. Along with his parents, he leaves behind his loving wife, Keisha White Ward; daughters, Brittney Ward and Bria Ward; son, Brett Ward; brother, Stephen Ward of Los Angeles CA; mother-in-love, Lisa Marbley of Wilmington; father-in-law, William White of Atlanta GA; sisters-in-love, Tiffany Lewis and Kimberly Fogal and husband Jamarcus, all of Wilmington and Krystle Marbley of San Antonio TX; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends. A Going Home service will be held at 4:00pm Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Church on the Rise with Pastor Richard Gurganus officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service and other times at the home. Burial will be at Pineview Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Peacemakers Family Center, 1725 Davis Street, Rocky Mount NC 27803. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount NC 27804. You may share memories and condolences with the family by visiting www.wheelerwoodlief.com. 1. Michael you will be missed, you were a good friend to me and a wonderful supervisor for the ICQA Department. Your DA.

  2. You have our deepest sympathy and condolences. The Cheesecake Factory Bakery

  3. My sincere condolences to the Ward family for your loss. Even though I didn’t know Micheal personally, I know he will truly be missed! I enjoy sharing the comforting promises of Jehovah God in his word the Bible, about the end of death, and a hope for our dead loved ones-2 Cor. 13, 4! Regarding the end of death the scripture at Rev 214, 5 helps us to appreciate that death, along with what comes with it, the tears of sorrow and mourning, will be considered as a former thing, for it will truly be something of the past! What a wonderful time it will be when death is gone! Verse 5 helps us to appreciate that we don’t have to wonder will death end, because Jehovah`s word is faithful. He doesn’t lie-Titus 12! Regarding the hope for our dead loved ones, Jesus demonstrated that we can be reunited with them, by means of a resurrection. Many are familiar with the account about Jesus close friend Lazurus who had been dead for four days. No doubt his family truly missed him. With the help of his father Jehovah, Jesus resurrected Lazurus, and his family was no doubt overwhelmed with joy-John 1111-44! No wonder Jesus was confident in the Resurrection hope, and without a doubt we should be also-John 528 29! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at [emailprotected] May your family be comforted!

  4. Condolences to the Ward family. May you each find comfort in your loving memories, and in knowing that God is close to the brokenhearted. (Ps. 3418) While grief at the loss of Michael is great, joy at welcoming him back in the resurrection will be greater (Acts 2415 Mark 542).

  7. When we are over powered with the pain of grief, over the loss of a loved one, We do well to go to the Bible. Thow all you anxiety on God, because he care for you. (1 Peter 5 7) We are given much hope, John 11 25, tells us of the great hope we have, of the resurrection. What a grand hope we have been given.
