Jr., of Jacksonville and Lisa Howard Buie and her husband, Steven, of Jacksonville; her three grandchildren, Kelly Bailey and her husband Aaron, Katie Goodman and Amanda Thigpen and her husband Bryan; three great-grandchildren, Tyler and Barrett Bailey and Abigail Thigpen; and her brother, Alton Basden and his wife, Joyce, of Kinston.

Lit a candle in memory of Maxine B. Howard
She is a very beautiful person both inside & outward. My husband & I both feel very blessed to have gotten to know her at First Christian Church of Jacksonville , 900 Gum Branch Rd. We missed not seeing her & always enjoyed talking with her in church, but we always tired keeping in touch with her; along with our church family as well. Both my husband & I, along with the church family wanted to send our condolences & prayers to her family.
I only knew Maxine for a couple of years but Kenny and I both enjoyed talking with her. Maxine and I did a couple of outings, lunch dates, shopping trips, etc. over that time and she was a good friend. The world is a much better place because she was in it. Love, Toni Owens, Jacksonville NC.
Please know we are thinking of the entire family. Keep your memories close to your heart. Sincerely, Sabrina and Zander Guy
My thoughts & prayers are with your family. I pray God grants grace & peace beyond all understanding. Gods word says he is near to those who are broken hearted, & those who are crushed in spirit, he saves. Ps. 34 18. What a wonderful promise we have been given.
