Mary Powell Fisher

BATTLEBORO - Mary Lancaster Powell Fisher, 94, passed away Friday, November 05, 2010. She was born in Edgecombe County on August 29, 1916 to the late Joseph Willis Powell and Lizzie D. Bulluck Powell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Fisher and sister Elizabeth Gardner. She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Frank Willis Fisher and his wife Carolyn of Battleboro; daughter, Shirley Jane Fisher of Nashville; grandsons, Frank W. Fisher, III and wife Anne of Greenville, NC, George Thomas Fisher and wife Christy of Smithfield, NC; granddaughters, Karen Bunn and husband Bill of Tarboro, NC and Lisa Sansouci and husband Tyler of Bryson City, NC. nine great grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, November 6, 2010 from 6:30 until 8:00 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home, with Parker Philips and Rev. Jim Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Battleboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Battleboro United Methodist Church or Hospice and Palliative Care of Nash General Hospital.
