Marjorie Marie Trotta Powell

ROCKY MOUNT - Marjorie Marie Trotta Powell, age 94, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017, after a long battle with dementia. Born in Lenoir County, NC on March 8, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Gerald A. Trotta and Leona Mae Clark Trotta. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Davis Powell. Marjorie leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Barbara Stephens and husband, Phil, of Concord; and Marj Marie and husband, Buck, of Saxapahaw. She is also survived by grandchildren, Joe Bauerband, Kate Bost, Ginger Bauerband, and Shannon Aragon; great-grandchildren, Alexander Aragon and Olivia Bost; brother, Les Sutton of Angier; and sister-in-law, Linda Huggins of Rocky Mount. A Celebration of Marjorie's Life will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. The family invites all to come to Marjorie's home for food, fellowship and music following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565.
